The Battle of the Books's last battle was last night. A county battle, and The Waka Waka's DOMINATED! it was so awesome! We only got one question wrong, i still can't believe it. AHH! But anyway, it was cool cause in the elementary battle our district won, and in the middleschool battle we tied for SECOND! lol. over all, good night of representation!. lol.

WOOT.
And not that the battle is over i can finally resume my lord of the rings books.

oh the wonderfull sense that is smell.. Or any sense for that matter because i can't imagine living without even just one of them, and smell is one of my favorites.

When a scent becomes familiarized it can be such a comforting thing, or maybe even lustful, but no matter what emotion it brings to mind it is such a treat to smell a good scented perfume or cologne or maybe even just laundry detergent that sometimes i can't help but just standing there stupidly and breathing in the sweet air.

I went to a college fair not too long ago, and this was my favorite one that i saw.. i don't know if it was the really awesome visuals or.. what not but it looked really kick ass, and I WANNA GOOOOOO ^-^ if i go it'll probably be for a transfer..and it'd be a lot of damn money.. but i think it would be totally worth it.. i've been looking atthe portfolios they have up on their website and thus far my favorite is this one  ~  portfolio.colum.edu/ryansinon/…

If Kimmie reads this i gots a question for you, do you know what college you're going to?

First off this is rant, but this is not meant as means of picking a fight. I am mearly just trying to make a point, and somewhat of a difference.

Let me explain why i am ranting.


Today in french class... (that's all i usually have to say when i am pissed off, and people know that it wasn't too pleasant.)

I love taking french, it's an awesome language and my french teacher is one of the nicest most patient people i have met, but as always in a foreign language class, there are certain people in the class that always find a way to be an asshole , and every other day is just a different degree of it, a different way. And There are those people in the world, i understand that and i can't make them stop being jerks, but i do want to talk to all of those people who aren't like that. Who use sexuality as an insult, but not necessarily because they have anything against gays or transexuals. And maybe a little bit to those douchebags, even though i know they wont really listen unless i make a fool out of them in the process...

Well the number one thing that pisses me off in that class is that a LOT of people use gay as an insult. I mean there's certain degrees of that as well. there's the "that's so gay" comment which is a social norm thing to say and doesn't really piss me off (but it is still annoying and inconciderate)  and then there's the "every time i don't like someone or am trying to be offensive twards someone i call them gay or a faggot.

One of these times i am going to say something back, but i am a shy person, and i don't like starting problems. (and i am also afraid that this would just make it worse)

So instead i am talking to you folks about it.

We were learning how to say i know her/him in french today, and quite a few times i heard the comeback "he's the gay guy/girl that...*insert thing here*!" and it really ticked me off. I wanted to say back to them

How does their sexuality have ANYTHING to do with what we are doing?

And it's not even like they were people that go on the news and make a big deal about being gay, or they were straight but the people said they were gay because they were figure skating or they didn't like them. They just called it out regardless of the truth, and honestly the truth doesn't really make a difference.

Sexuality is a preference. And not even a chosen preference at that.

It is not an insult, just as much as being a heterosexual is an insult. And also being a transexual is not an insult either.
And i am not asking you to try to understand it or to be completely ok with it. If it creeps you out a little bit, that's ok people have those feelings, and i respect that, as well as you have to also be willing to respect all people, regardless of their sexuality.

I know this is a huge issue today, and there are flaws and wrong doings and bad arguments on both sides of the fence, but this is just one issue of the many issues we have today, and sexuality is not the only thing that needs to be treated with respect either, people have many differences as a whole that we need to respect.

And i admit that i am not always respectful to everybody because of their preferences, but i am working to change that. And i ask the same of you now.

We can say we want change all we want, but we must start with ourselves first.

Find other insults that are not group bashing like retarded or gay,
and it will more than likely be more insulting to the person you are trying to insult. (is it contradicting to try to encourage insulting at all? i'm not sure..) There are always going to be those people that we want to insult, but please find a different way.

And please, try to help me in creating a more tolerant present.

Do you really want to cause problems with people you don't actually have a problem with?
